He’s a great writer and gives applicable advice. I’ve enjoyed all of his books.I am not a literary reviewer and I don't really know why the book was not compelling for me. It was good, but not compelling. I had really expected a 'can't put it down, got to finish this book it is sooooo good' experience.Maybe I am spoiled having read many of the Earl Nightingale, Napolean Hill and W. Clement Stone classics over the years. No knocks on Kevin O'Leary. There are moments of classic wisdom sprinkled throughout the book. The book is a fabulous investment of the cost of the book.I was just hoping for something that had more flow and a sense of urgency to the message. Here's also hoping Kevin's next books are made available in the United States. Funny he did book signings at Costco's in Canada, but Costco in the United States did not even carry his book. I had to buy it through Amazon because it was not available in US stores.I look forward to Kevin's next book. The wisdom in the message is there.Thank-you,Brad ThomsenKevin's tone and style isn't for everyone. If you value honesty, however, Kevin O'Leary's book On Business, Money, and Life may interest you. Growing wealth requires a deliberate plan and superhuman resolve; most people lack one or both. For most who make up the average and ordinary, they have so many self-limiting and self-defeating beliefs about money, business, themselves, and other people, that they should stick to voting for politicians to steal money from other people on their behalf. If you're ready to point the finger at yourself and take responsibility for your destiny then you'll enjoy O'Leary's book. There are MUCH better books on growing wealth, having a winning mindset, and developing a success/positive attitude, but O'Leary's is a nice, entry-level edition to the genre.oh MAN this is what a Biography should be!Kevin lays out his life for you from start to end...but he's lived an interesting life and he has a fun (yet not silly) way of telling the story. He's been very successful, and he tell you how he did it.You might not like him...and you might not like his methodology. But everything he did was upfront and honest. And his determination made him very, very successful and wealthy.Sure, he doesn't sugarcoat it, but that's the O'Leary charm.Obviously his methods work, so he's ALLOWED to be blunt. If you want to read about a guy who started out at the bottom and clawed his way to the top....more than once!...this is a GREAT biography!Kevin reminds me of my drill sergeant in basic. You can do all kinds of preparation to look the part, unless you have the capability of accomplishing task; you are just another private headed back home. Kevin has a way of saying things the way they should be said. 4 stars cause the price of the book is steep for a hardcover. The description of the book said it didn't have writing in it, but it did.I have always been a fan of Kevin O'Leary (he and Barbara Corcoran are my favorite 'sharks') and this book is truly in his "tell it like it is" style. The books flows really well and is easy to read.Excellent read. Mr. Wonderful gives insight to life through the many failures and triumphs of his career. It is entertaining of course, but also thought provoking from start to finish.Amazing book, Kevin Oleary is a genius and a very nice guy, they dont call him Mr Wonderful for nothing, the advice in this book is great !!I expected more from Kevin...he includes a lot of biography at the point of making reading the book kind of boring. I thought I was getting some new business insights, but at the end I got nothing different than what I can get by googling him and reading about him, or watching him on Dragons' DenI am working my way through the 's books the Canadian Dragons have written. Kevin's business experience comes closer than all the others to my own. Yes he is brusque, some say nasty but he is a real truth teller on Dragon's Den and Shark Tank. He also makes the best arguments for investing in stocks/bonds than have a dividend/yield. It works and I confirm it. After reading this book I would have much more time to listen to O'Leary (and Amanda Lang). All these successful people have a story to tell and lessons you can learn from. O'Leary my be seen as cruel - but he is being kind to let people know immediately where they stand or their idea is foolish. Worth a read - I could not put it down as it flows well.I love the book. Reads like a novel and at the same time gives goodtips regarding business and money. I like Kevin O'Leary because hetells it the way it is. That is why I also like to watch him on television. He is honest and not one of those political correct hypocrites who saysone thing and does another. Like they say, sometimes honesty hurts.I fully recommend this book to anyone who is motivated to make the bestout of his life. I only wished that the pictures in the book were of betterquality. Here is what surprised me: to find so much valuable information, as a young entrepreneur.I hadn't given much thought to distribution and my own business model until I read this book. What I took away from his story is that he managed to democratize software by undercutting (yes, you'll say he's brutal) everyone in the software industry, adopting a volume and licensing strategy.I'm 26, so I can definitely remember growing up and seeing all those 2-5$ games and software disks by the counter. I personally found most were total crap, yet I now realize it brought down a lot of giants who would otherwise charge software by the thousand. In my opinion, his personal brand was built on the same principal. His personal brand is only as strong as the TV rating can be... and the rating is pretty high (in major part due to his own "Mr Wonderful" nature).I took away something: when I have a kid of my own, I'm making him build a lemonade stand by the golf course, so he learns that Distribution Is Key.
